State & Chestnut
850 N State St, Gold Coast, Chicago 60610
State & Chestnut is a Gold Coast high-rise that recently got a full refresh, and the rooftop sky deck steals the show with an outdoor pool, a demo kitchen, and views from up on the 35th floor. The fitness center has its own yoga studio and there's a screening room plus resident lounges if you want to hang out without leaving the building. You're a three-minute walk from the Chicago Red Line stop and a four-minute stroll to Whole Foods, with Tempo Cafe right downstairs for coffee and Chicago + State Park around the corner when you need green space. Streeter's Tavern and Bernard's Bar are close by too, so a low-key night out is never more than a few minutes away.
