Welkin is a newer Waterton building in Des Plaines with a genuinely well-rounded amenity set, the kind where Lookout Point gives you a full kitchen and dining setup plus outdoor seating for hosting, and there's a real gym, a yoga studio, and a fireside lounge if you actually use that stuff. The apartments themselves feel current, with 9-foot ceilings, wood-style floors, and in-unit washer and dryers. It sits right in the walkable stretch of downtown Des Plaines, so you can grab coffee at Amazing Breads & Cakes a couple minutes away, walk to Miner Street Tavern or the Bourbon 'N Brass Speakeasy, and James Paroubek Park is basically out the front door. Just know it's a Metra-and-car spot rather than a CTA neighborhood, and you won't have a big grocery within easy walking distance.
