Northgate Crossing is a newer garden-style community tucked into Wheeling, with the kind of resident perks that make a suburban place feel worth settling into: a resort-style outdoor pool and sundeck, a 24-hour fitness center, and a clubhouse with a theater room, demonstration kitchen, and clubroom with a fireplace and pool table. The outdoor side is genuinely fun too, with grilling stations, fire pits, a bocce court, and a dog park, and the apartments themselves come with stainless steel appliances, in-unit washer and dryer, 9-foot ceilings, walk-in closets, and private balconies or patios. It is a quiet, car-dependent corner of the north suburbs, so you will want a vehicle, but the trade-off is a lot of space and amenities for the money. Just know there is no CTA train stop or major grocery chain within walking distance, so plan to drive for those.
